New Slate of Officers Announced - (3/16/2021)

The Rise Board of Directors recently approved its April 2021 - March 2022 slate of officers.  The officers were voted in at the annual meeting, held on March 11th.

The incoming Board President is Kristopher Bryson, a Financial Analyst at UHS.  Bryson previously served as Vice President.

The incoming Vice President is Paul Magner. 

Nicole Mayers, CPA will serve a second term as Treasurer.  Ms. Mayers works at Vieira & Associates.

Jane Blake will serve as the Board's Secretary.  

The board also approved the applications of 5 new members to join the Board of Directors.

The Rise Board of Directors meets monthly to provide programmatic and financial oversight of the organization.  The usual term is three years, with up to one extension.  Rise thanks its board members for their time and commitment in carrying out Rise's mission.

What is domestic violence?

Domestic Violence is a pattern of coercive behavior. This pattern can include abuse of various sorts of one family member by another including:

Perpetrators of domestic violence have a goal to establish and maintain power and control over their partners and/or other family members.

This violence affects people in every racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic group and includes people of all ages who have lived together or who have had an intimate relationship.

Domestic violence often escalates in severity and frequency over time and can have serious health and psychological ramifications.

Representatives from Rise are available to speak to community organizations about domestic violence and our services.
